Expressions of interest are required for a unique opportunity in a General Managers role to lead a dedicated and passionate team into a new generation of Drag Racing at, Willowbank Raceway, “Drag Racing’s Finest”.

Willowbank Raceway, Australia’s premier Drag Racing Facility was established in 1985.


The venue’s core business centres around conducting drag racing events, including the iconic Winternationals, which is the largest Drag Racing event held outside of North America.  The venue operates around a very congested calendar of events and is currently scheduled to run over 100 Drag Racing events in this year’s calendar of events with over 100,000 spectators attending the facility.


In addition to our core business activities, the venue conducts a number of non-drag racing activities which includes events such events as CMC Rocks as well as other non-drag racing activities.  In addition, as part of our community engagement the venue also services a number of driving schools offering student and driver training.


The successful applicant’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assist events team to plan, organise and execute successful Drag Racing events

  • Liaise with governments, councils and officials when required

  • Financial control, organising and running events operating within budgets

  • WHS, ensure risk assessments and risk management processes are followed

  • Ensure all WHS procedures are followed by all contractors and suppliers at events

  • Manage all event contractors and suppliers on the site during events

  • Set and implement measurable KPI’s for all staff members

  • Leading a motivated team on daily tasks to reach all KPI’s

  • Monthly reports to be presented to the board

  • Reporting directly to the Chairman of the board and Vice President.


Skills and Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in General Manager duties

  • Staff management at state or branch level required

  • Business management diploma required as a minimum

  • Motor Sport experience not essential
